Mercury Retrograde
Mercury goes retrograde for about 3 weeks, every 3 months. He is the Messenger Planet, the Planet of Communication. He talks to the Sun all the time, telling the Creator of Life what’s going on in our universe; therefore he can’t travel too far away! He will always be 30 degrees from the Almighty Sun. This makes it so this fast moving, speedy little guy will rest and go retrograde more often.
During the few days around the time he first goes retrograde and during the few days around the time he goes direct again, these are the days when the most confusing things take place. There is an increase in misspoken words, electronics act wacky, your car makes a strange noise, mail can get mixed up, these are a few examples to watch out for.
When Mercury goes to sleep it is a time to review, re-do, re-write, re-think, re-learn, go over it again and again. First, know, communication can mean many things, here are ways we communicate: speaking, writing, reading, thinking, TV, broadcasting, email, internet, non-verbal, journals, books, listening, texting, blogging, media, websites, how you think, mental activities, ideas, figuring things out, analyses, choice of words, reason, learning, contracts, videos, photography, paintings, artwork, singing, acting, storytelling, gossiping, lying, conning, etc.
Look at this way, say you were talking to a friend while they were sleeping, do you think they will know what’s been communicated when they wake up? Same thing here, this messenger planet doesn’t really know what’s going on on planet Earth because he’s taking a nap. While life continues amongst us Earthlings, his magnetic energy can cause havoc by way of everything involving communication. When he wakes up and gets back up to speed (about 3 weeks later) things start to flow again. Especially when he travels past his shadow (when he passes the degree he went retrograde at) is when communications get clear and is when things can move forward again.
First, what not to do:
Buy new electronics or cars
Sign new contracts
Start new projects
Start a new relationship, engage or get married
Sign on with a new job
Launch your book, web page or anything internet
Sign on with a new contractor of any kind
Do your taxes (either do them a week before his retrograde or a week after he goes direct)
Second, what to do:
Get in touch with past employers, co-workers, bosses, there may be opportunities and you know what they are about. Still no new contracts, test the waters.
Go over projects in place, review, re-write, re-do.
Communicate very clearly, dot your i’s and cross your t’s. At the same time, know, the other person could mean something else, so paraphrasing them is effective.
Get in touch with your neighbors and siblings.
Make everything open ended. If it’s a lease, make it month to month.
Continue the work you are doing and keep reviewing it, re-writing it, making it better, knowing that it can continue to shift.
Get your car worked on one week before the retrograde and check your tires.
If in sales, reach out to past prospects, past companies, revisit topics discussed before.
If you sign on with something new, you could get a lemon, you could be signing onto something that will change into something different than first understood. Starting a new project will morph into something else and could fall apart. If you cannot wait for Mercury to wake up, know these things discussed will change; therefore, make everything open ended. Have lawyers look at the terms and fine print.
